Travel and Terrain Advice

Steady snow and good weather make this a great day for long tours, including alpine areas. Bring plenty of water and sun protection. Avalanche danger is low on this day, but use safe terrain and continue to practice smart group management. It takes a very long time for humans to develop good behavioral habits. The low elevation exposes different hazards than in the normal season, such as snow bridge breaking in the gully. Please act with a safety margin. Also, remember that on very steep slopes that receive a lot of sunshine, the possibility of wet snow avalanches appears in the afternoon. Have a good day.

Snowpack

The snow from the previous stormy weather has settled further and is in the process of stabilizing. Also, the amount of snow that has fallen since then has been small and has not been a major problem. On the south-facing slopes, Melt-Freeze crusts are forming due to yesterday's sunny slopes.
