Travel and Terrain Advice

Due to heavy snowfall, avalanche conditions are extremely hazardous. Be aware of avalanches from large start zones overhead even if you are on a low slope. Even if the size of the avalanche is small, "terrain traps" such as deep gullys, cliffs, rocks, and standing timber are exposed which can increase the damage. Be careful of falling into gully. The Japan Meteorological Agency is forecasting more snowfall. Changes in snowfall and winds will increase avalanche danger. Please pay attention to changes in weather conditions.
