Conditions call for careful terrain and route selection. Start using small terrain and gentle angle slopes. Above the Treeline, watch for wind slabs formed by snow carried by westerly winds, and consider changes in slope orientation and terrain wind direction. Below Treeline, expect to be limited in your activities due to bushes and shrubs that have not yet filled in, and gullies. In previous years, the last part of a possible tour route may be very time-consuming. With that in mind, choose your route carefully. Continue to have a good holiday.
Don't miss the signs of snow movement. New wind slabs are very easy to break.
No new avalanche observations yesterday due to poor visibility, but there were multiple observations of shooting cracks on wind-efective slopes.
The stormy weather that began on the 20th brought new snowfall until early yesterday morning Below Treeline and yesterday afternoon above Treeline. The new snow cover reached 100-140 cm and is settling steadily. Several weak interfaces have been observed in the new snowpack. Above the Treeline, westerly winds are redistributing the snowpack.
The Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts that on the 24th, high pressure will prevail, but the area will be affected by a pressure trough and moist air.
