Snowpack
Yesterday, due to the passage of low pressure, there was rainfall at places that are generally lower than 800 m above sea level. At higher elevations, snowfall from yesterday afternoon is on the hard thaw frozen layer or on the old snow. This fresh snow is affected by winds from west to northwest. Even if the elevation is raised, it is not a storm, so it is necessary to consider that a fairly thick slab is formed on the leeward side of the ridge line.
Weather
The Meteorological Agency forecasts the Joetsu region of Niigata prefecture with strong winds in the west, later, slightly stronger, snowy, and a maximum temperature of 4°C (elevation 13m). At Myoko Sasagamine (elevation 1310m), the temperature is -10 ℃ (as of 5:00), 25 cm in the past 6 hours, and the snowfall of 36 cm in the past 12 hours.
